No Super Guest Star this week
Major changes coming to ianthealy.com very soon. I'm busy flogging the coding gnomes instead of soliciting new SGSS posts.
Although, if you would like to participate, I'd be happy to put your article into the queue!
The Weekly Stuff
Is it ever gonna, ever gonna change again?
Well, there's a lot going on, but mostly it's of the behind-the-scenes nature. I turned Blackout: A Just Cause Novel in to my agent this morning and she's already said she will be staying up all night to finish it because it's kinda good. I am going to rewrite one short section of it, and that will be a project for later tonight/tomorrow.
Super Guest Star Saturday: Becky Clark
Becky is a real character both online and in person. I know her through the Pikes Peak Writers, and at this year's conference she was quite possibly the loudest person at my table during the Saturday night banquet - even more so than the Sheriff of Creeville (an inside joke only a few folks will get). I asked if she'd write me something and this is what we got.
The Weekly Stuff

And a rhinestone life
It's been a crazy busy week. I finished editing one friend's manuscript Thursday night, then spent Friday and Saturday reading and critiquing a novella written by two high-schoolers for a project my agents are involved with, and finally since Sunday have been working to wrap up yet another friend's manuscript before I leave on Thursday.
Super Guest Star Saturday 5/1/10: David Rozansky
I met David Rozansky a couple years ago at a Pikes Peak Writers workshop on small & local publishers. I've been following him on Twitter and finally got around to asking if he'd like to write me a post on the benefit to authors of working with a small press.
Ian's Conference Adventure, 2010 Edition
You get what you give
Another PPWC has drawn to a close, and I had, as usual, a phenomal time with loads of friends, great camaraderie, fabulous workshops, and great news.
Super Guest Star Saturday 4/24/10: Kirk Farber
I've met Kirk Farber a few times through the Pikes Peak Writers, most recently when I swung down to Colorado Springs for a PPW-sponsored NaNoWriMo write-in where I broke the 50,000-word barrier on Blood on the Ice. His book, Postcards from a Dead Girl just came out and he's been touring to promote it. I know nothing about that kind of activity, and asked if he might take a little time from his busy schedule to talk about it here.
The Weekly Stuff
You're dirty and sweet oh yeah
Late on my weekly update, but I was at an NHL playoff game last night. The Avs lost, but I enjoyed the game nonetheless. Getting home at midnight put a cramp into my blogging style, and I decided discretion was the better part of valor and retreated to bed instead of updating you all with my weekly project productivity (or lack thereof).
Super Guest Star Saturday 4/17/10: Vanitha Sankaran
I went to high school with Vanitha. Thanks to Facebook, we're back in touch again, and imagine my surprise to learn that she has since become an outstanding writer whose debut novel was JUST RELEASED this past week! Congrats to you, Vanitha! It's always a pleasure to see someone's hard work come to fruition. I asked if she had time to put together a guest post for me, and she was happy to oblige in this tale of how a manuscript became a published novel.
