The Weekly Stuff

How we drown in stylistic audacity

I hate writing synopses.

Nevertheless, it's part of the job, and I can't submit a manuscript to my agent without one, so muddle through it, I must.  Even if Yoda, it makes me speak like.

Super Guest Star Saturday 3/20/10: Claudia Hall Christian

Claudia Christian is someone who I'm surprised I haven't met in person yet, considering we live in the same town. We've met through blogging, and communicate as well through Twitter and Facebook (social networking in action!).  Claudia writes serial fiction, which I find both mysterious and fascinating, and I asked her to talk about it here.

A Very Important Announcement

Maintenance

I wish I was a little bit taller

It was tactfully pointed out to me today that I needed a Bio on my website.  But wait, I thought, I have one.  Turns out I didn't have it enabled, so that got a big D'oh.  I went ahead and wrote a new one to make me sound much more interesting than I really am.  Now you can click on it in the top menu.

You will find the road

I'm moving forward and making excellent progress on a couple of projects.  The next draft of Blood on the Ice is more than one-third done.  Once this one is done, I have a final delta-level readthrough for any last-minute fixes and then it's off to my agent.

Super Guest Star Saturday 3/13/10: Caron Guillo

I first met Caron Guillo through ABNA '08, like so many other writers.  I had the fortune to meet her and two of her kids in person this past summer and I promise you she is every bit as lovely a person as she comes across in her post below.

Show me, don't tell me

The rejection came as a polite, “Keep trying,” but it cut to the core.

The Vagaries of Hate

The tide is high

I got into a bit of an argument on Facebook yesterday over Hilary Duff.

Yes, you'd better reread that first sentence.  It is correct.

At the end of my rainbow lies a golden oldie

Another story sold!

I need a good reaction

My story, "Graceful Blur," was just released in the pages of Thousand Faces #11.  It's a very different take on a superhero story and I'd sure like it if you read it.  I'd like it even better if you ordered a hard copy for your collection.
