Current Projects

My primary love is of speculative fiction, especially in the genre of superheroes. I've written numerous novels set in the Just Cause Universe, named after the primary superhero team of the modern era. Finished projects include Mustang Sally, Deep Six, The Archmage and Blackout. Deep Six was a Top 100 semifinalist in the 2008 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards competition, and one of only four SFF books to make the cut. I've planned and plotted at least fifteen more sequels to this gargantuan series which covers more than seventy years of history. My agent and I are currently seeking a publisher for the JCU.

In 2007, I stepped out of the superhero box to explore a near-future cyberpunk universe with the big-budget action-movie novel of Troubleshooters: The Longest Joke Ever Told, which follows a team of three mercenaries as they risk life and limb to retrieve a single rare collectible for a billionaire. Troubleshooters began life as my 2007 entry into the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) competition.

In 2008, I took a sharp left turn into unfamiliar territory with Pariah's Moon, a cross-genre novel mixing high fantasy and Westerns. It follows the tale of an Elven exile who finds a new home amid the natives of the New World but can't escape his checkered past. A sequel is underway, entitled Pariah's War. Pariah's Moon was my 2008 NaNoWriMo entry, and I am seeking a publisher for the series.

My 2009 NaNoWriMo novel was written in a genre I've labeled Urban Fantasy Sports, a unique combination of vampires and minor-league hockey called Blood on the Ice.

Planned projects include continuations of both the Just Cause and Pariah's Moon series, a potential sequel to Troubleshooters, and more new directions including a steampunk adventure entitled The Oilman's Daughter and an as-yet-untitled science fiction murder mystery.

I have been maintaining a weekday LEGO-based superhero webcomic since 2006, called The Adventures of the S-Team.
