The Phantom Zone is a creation of DC Comics, specifically part of the Superman mythos, as is General Zod. Most people, though, will remember his bellow of “Kneel before Zod!” in Superman II.

Turbo manages to recap approximately 50% of all plotlines since this strip started. See, even though the Legion of T and the S-Team have yet to face off against one another, the conflict between them is the driving force behind the comic. There’s even a little tip of the hat to Chris Doyle’s Brick House in there with the mention of “that guy and his frog.”

And when your plans keep failing? Simple…get a better plan.

Tyrant’s “Try to imagine all life…” speech is from Ghostbusters, said in explanation when Dr. Venkman asks what happens if you cross the streams from the proton packs.

It’s barely noticeable, but I made an effort to black out the windows in the door in each strip featuring it, because I didn’t want you all to see the lab behind it. See, the little things are important. So are the big things, as Tyrant keeps trying to explain.
