In the end, there really is no better “superpower” than being rich, because when you’re rich you can do anything you want. You can get out of jail free, get away with murder, build your own Batmobile, and be as eccentric as ever.

I think it’s far more interesting when the villain takes an active role in trying to take down his arch-enemy, as opposed to letting henchmen and off-the-cuff plans try to do it instead.
I happen to have a Liberal Arts degree. And yes, I’m also subject to the “fountain of useless information” problem. But thusly I am introducing the Legion of T, which is, of course, a play on the Legion of Doom from the Super Friends cartoon of the 70s.
