Superbad’s first words are almost a direct quote from the John Carpenter movie They Live, with the inimitable Roddy Piper. The actual line is “I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass!” but since my kids read this strip, I’d rather them see “butt” than “ass.”
Superbad’s cute little gun is actually the broken-off handle from a Classic Castle shield which I’ve had for probably thirty years. Those of you who comment on where did I get all my cool classic LEGO pieces should realize I’ve been hanging onto all my sets since the ’70s.
