LEGO Ian actually did spend a month drunk in The Brick House, which didn’t really bother me because he wasn’t doing anything else at the time. In spite of what some readers might think, I don’t see BH as a competitor – nor do I see any LEGO webcomic as one. Popularity of one is good for popularity of all – a rising tide lifts all ships.
Happy New Year, everyone. Sometimes it can be a little daunting to be put on the spot.
Producing this strip (and those to follow) was pretty time-consuming. I had to isolate each of the characters from the background, which involved a lot of trace-and-erase work. If I’d had software to save them as 8-bit graphics instead of 16-bit, I’d have tried that to see how they looked. As it is, I think they look digital enough without being unrecognizable as sprites.
